With summer almost in full swing, it’s time to trade your jackets in for swimsuits. Before we know it, we’ll all be searching for a way to the beat the Myrtle Beach heat. If you’re looking for a way to cool off this summer, make sure to check out all the fun water sport activities we have available in the area.
You don’t have to work up a sweat in the water with parasailing. Nothing beats the view of the Myrtle Beach skyline and the ocean. You can head out on the water in a banana boat before you set sail hundreds of feet in the air. The view alone is worth it! On top of the beauty of the ocean, if you’re lucky, you’ll get to see marine life from up above. Parasailing is a fun way to spend your day while soaking up the summer sun and enjoying the cool Myrtle Beach water.
If you’re looking to get wet and wild, make sure to try out jet skiing! Jet skiing is one of the most popular activities in Myrtle Beach and is the perfect way to spend the day with family or friends. Typically, jet skis can accommodate up to two people. Or, if you want to ride solo, that’s an option too. You can show off your skills out on the ocean or cruise along at your own pace. This is the perfect way to experience the ocean in a completely different way.
Just because we’re not in Hawaii doesn’t mean you can’t catch some sick waves! While we don’t have the waves they do on the west coast, if you do a little research, you’re sure to find your own little piece of surfer heaven here in Myrtle Beach. For those of you who aren’t even sure how to stand on a surfboard, let alone actually surf, you can take lessons at Jack’s Surf Lessons and become a pro in no time!
If surfing isn’t your style, you can try the more tame Stand Up Paddle Boarding. If you’re not familiar with paddle boarding, you stand on a board roughly the size and shape of a surfboard and use a paddle to navigate. It’s a great way to get out on the water and you can take things at your own pace. Depending on where you go, you can paddle board out on the ocean, along the Intracoastal, or take your own private island tours. This is the perfect activity for families who love adventure and want to explore Myrtle Beach in a new way!
While paddle boarding requires a lot of standing, you can kick back and relax with kayaking. Whether you want to ride solo or buddy up with a friend, kayaking is a calm and relaxing way to spend time with loved ones while you soak up some sunshine and enjoy the refreshing waters here in Myrtle Beach. Depending on where you go, you can explore many different spots of Myrtle Beach. While some kayak tours take you around the Intracoastal Waterways, some will guide you out to Waites Island for a special sneak peak at one of the natural landmarks in the area.
There’s no reason to spend your vacation land-locked! With seemingly endless water activities, you can find something that the wildest and tamest member of your group will love. Whether you’re dying to take flight with parasailing or you’re content to cruise along in a kayak, make sure you bring a change of clothes because you’re sure to get wet!
