Question: What Paint Colors Should I Keep/Get Rid Of?
Answer: Lots of people want to know what’s the best colors to paint my home to get the maximum dollar amount for it. I always advise my clients to go neutral! Neutral appeals to the masses and is less likely to turn off buyers. Neutral colors (beige, light tan, cream, light grey) are not obtrusive or loud and they are soothing to the eye.
They also match almost any furniture that the buyers have and if they can’t afford to re-paint at first, then they look at the home to be turn-key and move in ready for them. Bright obtrusive colors can turn buyers off. They may look fabulous with your furniture but they may view it as more money to spend re-painting. Also dark colors can make a small space appear smaller. If you want your home to appear warm, inviting, and as big as possible go with a light neutral shade. One of my favorites is Killum Beige by Sherman Williams. It also makes the trim color pop!
