Ask A Dargan Real Estate Agent: If My Home Inspection Comes Back Negative, Can I Get Out of the Contract?

March 23, 2018 by Dargan Real Estate

Question: If my home inspection comes back negative can I get out of the contract?

Answer: If you are in the process of purchasing a home always make your offer contingent on a satisfactory home inspection and CL-100.
If the home inspection comes back negative and you decide to not move forward you can absolutely get out of the contract. You also have the option to request that the seller makes all the repairs needed or deduct money off of the sales price. The same goes for the CL-100 which is a termite inspection. This is another reason why it is important to have a seasoned agent who knows how to write your offer, and to negotiate on your behalf to guide and protect you.
