Each year South Carolina holds an annual Restaurant Week to spotlight the incredible cuisine the state has to offer. There are a few major cities that participate every year including Myrtle Beach. The chefs at the restaurants either create pre-fixe menus or they run certain food specials. These pre-fixe menus feature particular menu items to give guests a taste of what the restaurant is all about.
One of the perks of living along the Grand Strand is being surrounded by some of these amazing restaurants. This year the 2017 Restaurant Week in Myrtle Beach runs from January 12-22, 2017 and features thirteen participating restaurants.
Located in Littler River, The Parson’s Table is a restaurant whose history is as rich as the food. The building itself was originally the first Little River Methodist Church. There’s a beautiful chandelier hanging in the dining room and antique staind glass windows that create a tranquil ambiance. For restaurant week their Chef has designed a three-course menu full of fresh ingredients and flavor. The Fried Green Tomato appetizer is delectable with the goat cheese and red bell pepper coulis complimenting the acidity of the fried green tomatoes. For your entree you may have a hard time choosing between the Slow Roasted Prime Rib, Encrusted Iceland Haddock and Sautéed Chicken Breast. And don’t forget a mouth-watering dessert is included!
21 Main at North Beach is located in Myrtle Beach and is an award-winning restaurant that features high quality dry-aged meats and fresh seafood. For their fine dining experience, the Chef has prepared a pre-fixe menu that includes three courses full of delectable options. For starters you can choose from items such as the Cashew Caramel Brie or Collard Green Wontons. The southern collard greens are served with bourisin cheese and a sweet chili sauce – a twist on a southern classic. Some of the main courses include Seared Tuna, 10 Oz Certified Angus Delmonico Ribeye, and Pork Portobello, to name a few. And if you’re looking for another unique spin on a southern dish, be sure to try the Crispy Crème Bread Pudding for dessert.
There are a mixture of other restaurants participating during this week that specialize in cuisine including French, Italian, Steakhouse, American and Southern. There is definitely a dish to satisfy everyone’s palate.
