To truly understand what attributes or features home buyers seek in today’s market, it’s sometimes more helpful to know what attributes or features that turn them away. For example: 80s-styled homes are big turn off for a lot of home buyers. In fact–a large percentage of buyers who can’t afford a newer home, pass over homes built between 1970-1999 for older ones.
The older homes that are more popular right now include pre-WWII homes (Victorians, Colonials, or any architecture with Old-World charm and character), mid-century styled homes with flat roofs and geometric windows, and Mediterranean homes with Spanish or Italian details.
